For A Time Such as This . . .

I know, I know it has been about 6 months since my last post.  I could give you a lot of excuses but none would really work.  Anyway, I want to begin again and talk about what our Renew Sunday Evening service will be doing for the next few weeks.

“For a time such as this . . ” is the theme for the coming weeks and is taken directly from the book of Esther where her cousin was telling her that she had been placed in the place she was in to protect her people like no one else could.  She was in the right place to do the right thing.  If you know the story, then you’ll know how it works out, if not, the join us July 1 at 6:30 to hear the story and join in the discussion.  Each of the following weeks, we will choose another person from scripture who was in the right place to do the right thing, and see where we can follow their example.

Let me ask you this though, has there been a time where you feel you have been in the right place to do the right thing?  Was it easy or hard for you to  do what needed to be done?

The life of faith often leads us into places where we need  to stand up against wrongs, speak out against injustice, or just do the right thing when others are not.  We believe that we don’t do it alone, that the Spirit of God leads and empowers us especially when it is tough.

Come and join us in the journey, be empowered to do what is right wherever you are and trust in the Spirit’s care and guidance.  I promise that the next post will not be 6 months from now in December!

  1. Sounds like a very interesting series of sermons, Darren. The Book of Esther is a great book to study. Thanks for sending us your Pastor’s Blog to read. It’s nice to know what you are teaching. Have a great Sunday. Love you all, Mom/Grandma
