Keeping Track of Life

My family is participating in the Nielsen TV ratings this week and it has been interesting. We have not changed our viewing, but it has been interesting to me to actually “see” what we are watching. I was wondering what it would be like to keep track of our lives, what we do and say and how we spend our time, with the focus that the Nielsen’s want us to keep track of our TV watching.

Jesus tells His disciples in the garden, Mat 26:41 Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” This is also good advice for us.

We need to watch what we do and say and think; how we spend our time; where our hearts and minds focus and stay; what we put into them; etc. We need to keep a consistant watch on our lives so that we will be able to remain faithful to God’s call and not be tempted and fall to that temptation.

What do you think? Should we keep a record of what we do in our lives? It maybe interesting to do so for a day or two, just to see exactly where and how we spend our time, but most importantly is that we keep watch so that we live faithful lives before God and others.
